Ivah was born in Charleston S.C. August 7, 1971. A single mother of 5, 3 boys 2 girls and 2 beautiful granddaughters! Thinking of the happy and sad times raising my family I knew for sure I wanted my family to be as healthy as I could possibly keep them. Learning to cook at the age of 13 by simply watching my mother, grandmother and host of aunts (biological and symbolically so) I started mimicking what I saw and putting meals together for my family.
As I listen to the radio and sing as I would often see the most influential women in my family do. Stirring, singing and just being happy made the meals rich with flavor and love. When I had my own family I continued to pour my love into my preparation providing them with rich healthy meals to nourish their mind, body and souls.
Now I’m putting these recipes I’ve created in my kitchen with love on pages for you to use and make happy memories in your homes as well as to help you make healthier choices for cooking and eating. Use them to build family, spiritual bonds and never ending happiness for all that partake from your table.
Love from my heart to yours,
Ivah
